چکیده

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM) is a clinical syndrome that commonly masquerades as acute coronary syndrome. Characteristically, TCM precipitated by stressful event and then diagnosed following demonstration of typical wall motion abnormalities in the absence obstructive artery disease. The transience left ventricular dysfunction, defined normalization ejection fraction (LVEF), has been hallmark TCM, it was initially considered to be benign condition. Yet recent studies patients with have demonstrated subtle structural, functional, electrocardiographic along persistent metabolic changes symptoms even after fraction1Mitsuma W. Kodama M. Two-dimensional strain in Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

This report presents the late follow-up of a case of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy with good clinical outcome and improved left ventricular global systolic function. However, there was persistence of significant regional longitudinal systolic dysfunction evaluated using a new echocardiographic technique (speckle tracking), with corresponding measures of strain (S) and strain rate (SR). We emphasize ...

Clinical Characteristics and Outcomes of Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC) (also known as apical ballooning syndrome or stress-induced transient left ventricular dysfunction) is a recently recognised condition which closely mimics the presentation of acute coronary syndrome. It is characterised by acute but rapidly reversible left ventricular (LV) dysfunction in the absence of obstructive coronary disease. TC was first described in a case...

Epidemiology and clinical profile of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

First described in Japan over 2 decades ago, takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) has emerged as a unique cardiomyopathy with world-wide recognition, mimicking acute coronary syndrome. In early TTC experience, typical patients were older women, with a triggering emotional event, ST-segment elevation, and apical ballooning left ventricular (LV) contraction pattern. However, TTC is now more heterogeneo...

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy: a clinical review.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is a reversible cardiomyopathy which has increasingly been recognized in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome. It is characterized by transient systolic ventricular dysfunction with regional wall motion abnormalities beyond a single vascular territory and in the absence of significant epicardial coronary artery obstruction. Ofte...

Prevalence, Clinical Characteristics, and Predictors of Patients with Thromboembolic Events in Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy

BACKGROUND Several acute complications related to takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) have been documented recently. However, the incidence and clinical significance of acute thromboembolic events in TTC is not well established. METHODS A detailed investigation of the clinical characteristics and in-hospital complications of 114 consecutive patients diagnosed with TTC between January 2003 and Sept...
